Jais ASR - access through LLMTR
Jais ASR is IFM's speech-to-text model for Arabic as it is spoken: Modern Standard Arabic and the dialects of 19 Arab countries. It names the language or dialect of each recording, can keep English, French, Spanish and Italian words in their own script when speakers switch (code_switch), can add Arabic vowel marks (diacritics) and reports when a recording has no speech. It takes wav, mp3, flac or ogg recordings of up to 15 minutes, sent base64-encoded in the request body (about 9 MB per request). It is free until 5 November 2026, 23:59 (TRT), with an allowance of 60 minutes of audio per day.

Guides about this model
- Jais ASR vs Grok Voice STT vs Gemini 3.8 Flash for Arabic - All three models run on LLMTR with the same API key. Jais ASR transcribes the Arabic dialects of 19 countries, names the dialect and is free for 60 minutes a day until 5 November 2026, 23:59 (TRT). Grok Voice STT costs $0.10 per hour of audio; Gemini 3.8 Flash can translate or summarize the transcript in the same request.
- Transcribing Arabic recordings through an API: Jais ASR - On LLMTR, Jais ASR is called at https://llmtr.com/v1/audio/transcriptions under the id ifm/jais-asr. The audio travels base64-encoded in a JSON body; the response carries the transcript, the recording's language or dialect, its duration and whether it contains speech. The model is free until 5 November 2026, 23:59 (TRT), with an allowance of 60 minutes of audio a day.
- Arabic dialect identification API: labelling recordings with Jais ASR - On LLMTR, Jais ASR's verbose_json response carries the recognised language or dialect in the language field next to the transcript: msa for Modern Standard Arabic, and country codes such as MA, EG or SA for dialects. For identification, leave the language field out or send ar. The model is free with 60 minutes of audio a day until 5 November 2026.
- Arabic models on LLMTR: Jais 3, Jais ASR and K2 Horizon - In October 2026 three models from MBZUAI's IFM were added to LLMTR: ifm/jais-3-mova-36b-a4b for Arabic and English chat, ifm/jais-asr for Arabic recordings, and ifm/k2-horizon-375b-a23b, which reasons before every answer. All three are free with a daily allowance until 5 November 2026, 23:59 (TRT), and are retired on 6 November.
