Moonshot AI Kimi K3.1 Pro is Kimi's current flagship for long-horizon coding, multi-step agent workflows and knowledge work such as financial analysis. It supports a 1,048,576-token context window, image and video input (base64 data URLs only), tool calling, JSON and strict JSON Schema output. It reasons on every request and those tokens bill as output; reasoning cannot be turned off, the `low`, `high` and `max` levels can be chosen, and `max` is used when no level is sent. `temperature` and `top_p` are fixed (1 and 0.95); use `auto`, `none` or `required` for `tool_choice`, a specific function cannot be forced. Repeated prompt prefixes are served from an automatic cache at a tenth of the input rate; the 1-hour cache TTL cannot be requested. Web search is not available on this model.
